A while back I was in the process of painting a Multicam job on a client’s rifle. I have done many Multicam jobs, but as usual they are all unique and my techniques tend to evolve from rifle to rifle. Anyway, I had modified my technique on this job and when I removed the male stencils and prepared to complete the final color application, the dark brown blotches, I liked what I was looking at. I called the client and sent him photos and asked him if he wanted me to continue with the dark brown or just leave it the way it was. He chose to leave it without the brown and I agreed. I found the pattern to be very adaptable to many areas. I also thought that it looked a little snake-like; not literally but impressionally. So I dubbed the pattern Leaf Adder, and it is becoming popular amoungst my clients. Here are some photos.

Any combat weapon that doesn’t have a “grippy” surface where you hold it will be hard to hang on to when blood, mud, oil, sweat, etc are introduced to the weapon’s surface. I discovered this truth during an intensive 2 day Jeff Gonzales combat handgun course. I cut my strong hand and soon had blood and sweat all over the grip of my G-22. It was hard to hold while firing to say the least. I didn’t like the way it felt so I determined to do something about it. The Hi-Traction grip was the result. I have found it to improve the feel of the pistol and my ability to hang on to it during retention training shooting drills.
